\u201cGrand Contest on Chemistry for High School Students\u201d was established in 2004 to encourage high school students and to promote high school chemistry. The contest has been organized by Osaka City University, Yokohama City University, and Yomiuri Shimbun, which is one of the biggest newspaper companies in Japan. This contest has been supported by the Chemical Society of Japan, and several boards of education in Japan as well as other sponsors. Ten teams selected prior to the final contest give oral presentations and the rest of entry teams give poster presentations about their research results in the final stage and judged by top scientists and educators. Several prizes are presented to some excellent oral and poster presentations.<\/p>\n
The 17th contest will be held by online as an international contest. Many entries from overseas high school teams are welcome. The details of entry are shown below.
\nIn addition to competition presentations, a few high school teams will be invited from overseas to the contest and give invited talks in English.<\/p>\n
The international contest is a good occasion for high school students and teachers as well to present their research results in front of a large audience, to discuss their results with other high school students, and to interact actively with researchers, scientists and educators belonging to universities.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The organizing committee of the contest invites all high school students to contribute abstracts of scientific communications that will be peer-reviewed for their acceptance as either oral or poster presentations. The deadlines of registration for the presentation and abstract submission are as described below. Participants wishing to present an oral or a poster presentation should contact the organizing committee via e-mail.<\/p>\n
